Help, problem with my 7B-SST.
« on: 16 Jun 2010, 05:17 am »
Hi,

Had just bought a secondhand 7B-SST amplifier.
This is a June-2005 production unit.

Had listened at the seller’s home , playing various CDs all without any problems.
However, when connected back home , I encountered some problems :
1.  When press the soft switch on the Bryston front panel to turn on the set , there is a short static buzz sound coming from my speakers (just a short while and goes away quickly).
2.  When pressing buttons on my CD player (even very light lightly) , there is also strange static sound coming from the speakers.  At this moment, my CD player which has volume control is directly connected to the 7B-SST.
The sound is clearly audible (i.e. not soft).
I never had any such problems in my system with my previous amplifier (which i have sold off about a month ago).

Anyone knows what might be wrong ?
Seems to me like some grounding issue ?

Please help , thanks.
Steve

Hi Steve,

Is there a static sound from the speakers when there is no CD player directly connected?
I assume you mean a pair of 7B's?
