Kingdeezie, How are your E3's sounding now? Have things smoothed out?
Last night was probably the best my system has ever sounded.
The last few days before last night were a little discouraging. Something had happened to the bass. It was a little wooly, and it seemed to all of a sudden sound overblown. I was getting ready to take the plates off to adjust the gain, but I let my better judgement prevail, and rode it out for a little bit.
Last night everything was dead on. The sound was smooth, the bass was tight and balanced, the highs were extended, and the music was just kicking.
These speakers, when all cynlinders are firing, are amazing.
The amount of detail is off the charts, but the sound is never analytical.
The old saying "hearing new things in familiar recordings", doesn't really justify what I am experiencing.
Its not just hearing these new things, but having them be reproduced as three dimensonal entities of their own.
Back up vocalists in even poorly recorded pop/rock music, get their own space and layering. For as much as I hate hyperbole, I can now "see"(not literally, by see I mean, imagine them based on the dimensionality of the sound) the backup vocalist.
Compositional layering on some progressive rock/metal tunes are rendered with this crazy three dimensional texture and clarity.
Its really a cool effect.
This is the first time in a long time I am excited to get home, and just sit in my room and listen to music for a bit. My old system, in my acoustically difficult room, sounded down right broken in comparison. It caused me to stop really listening to music much at all.
Really happy with them to this point. I feel like I reached a new level of fidelity after last night.
