Kick-A**

The Marque said Kick A

This is a very entertaining movie for adult males who would enjoy Batman + The Matrix + Comic Book. It has a real Sin City flavor in many scenes. Don't bring kids - it is rated R for good reason. Lots of violence and no attempt to restrain the cursing, some sexually suggestive scenes. But this is one that kids will probably want to see all the more because of the Hit-Girl character. Ideally there would be a PG rated DVD/Blu-Ray.

The the Hit-Girl character girl just makes you smile - in retrospect how could a father raise a daughter this way...but he has been through a lot. Nicholas Cage does a pretty decent job of the kind of wacky father. The male lead does a pretty good job playing the emo-ish superhero wannabe and makes the whole thing more believable. His love interest makes me cringe a little bit.

A guilty pleasure...

Currently rated 77% on Rotten Tomatoes.

Man, if they can advertise on TV, print, movie previews, etc. as "Kick-Ass", I'm pretty sure you don't need to censor it for Audiocircle!  :green:

Honestly, I didn't really like it that much. It may be that I've been trained by now to expect whiz-bang special effects, but if you take all that out of it then you need something convincing, and I didn't see that here. I dunno, to me it was like a blockbuster without the block or the buster.

I'll probably love it the second time around :dunno:

Really enjoyed this movie! I had low expectations going in, since I thought the previews I had seen looked lame, so I was quite pleasantly surprised the movie lived up to its name.
