Looking for a new amp as I have upgraditis at the momen. Currently using a ClassDaudio kit amp until I decided on my dream amp.

Looking to spend up to around 5k used or new - currently using a PC to Lynx AES -> Berkeley Alpha DAC -> Class d amp -> Vo Schweikert VR-33's

Have tought about the following as I have always like a lot of power for great dynamics -

Nofore Ref 9 V3SE
Moscode 402AU
Spectrum Mk III
Rogue Audio M-180's
McIntosh MC402
Cherry Jr

Avaried selection of amps - any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Paul

From the ones you posted, i heard the McIntosh MC402. Its very natural sounding, clear vocals, instruments and not to mention the imaging.

For dynamics and power Krell should be on the list.  In tube amps my favorite is Conrad Johnson.

Take a look at what Audio by Van Alstine has to offer www.avahifi.com
I own three of the Ultra amps and have been VERY happy with them.

I realise I may be going against the grain here but I have the Nuforce V3Se's and IMHO they sound great. Very dynamic, wide soundstage. I recently listened to the new B&W 802Ds with Naim gear and took my nuforce amps  in to demo. The Nuforce blew away the Naim and classe amps. I dont know if the offer is still good but you used to be able to buy the Nuforce and return after a 30 period. If it is still on it cant hurt and I think you would be very pleased

I've been hearing good things about NuForce and would like to hear them.  I wouldn't mind having a backup power amp or a good sounding digital like the NuForce to use in summer months.  I don't know how counter productive cooling a house might be with two tubed monoblocks but I guess every little bit would help :)

I would throw the Digital Amplifier Company DAC 4800A on your list of consideration as well. Great amplifiers and under your budget.
