Thanks for your comments. My system consists of Bottlehead Paramount amps and Seduction phono, Rega Planet CD player, VPI Classic TT/w Benz Ace, and Edgar system 100 speakers. The system is very efficient. A friend brought over a 1mv Dynavector to try with my VPI, and with the Clarinet in the system, there was enough gain w/o any MC step up. Volume control was at about 1 o'clock.

I have about 20 hours on the Clarinet and things are starting to open up. The highs are still a tiny bit rough. From what I have read on this forum, I suspect that it will be a few weeks before the Teflons break in. I can hear hum from my listening chair that I didn't notice before. Its there regardless of source. It didn't surprise me, though as every active preamp I've tried with the Paramounts has resulted in significant hum. The clarinet is by far the quietest though. I tried a cheater plug on the Clarinet to defeat the ground thinking there may be a ground loop, but nothing changed. I could probably live with it, but what fun would that be. I think I'll wait until the break in is complete and then dig in.
