Well, I've been toying with the idea for some time now and I finally got the nerve and time to do it. :D

I seperated my HT and Audio Systems and boy am I a happy camper (listener)

The HT is not a lot smaller and cleaner and currently only 5.1 but is totally adequate.

The Audio in now unbeleivable (even my vinyl!!!)

I always mention how I am looking to improve "depth" and with the combo of the new MiniMax preamp and this minimalism in the front of the room I am in depth heaven.

As an added bonus, I now have "DEEPER" Bass too.  I mean "extremely" noticable!!  The clean bass lines in "Flight of the Cosmic Hippo" are fat and round....

And I was able to make a "sonic projector screen" with the left over acoustic foam that makes it like opening a window, No I take that back, it is like knocking down a big wall and the depth is just "out there".

WOW!

And I have THREE sweet spots and they are all very cool.

The front and primary spot is front row center and Diana Krall, or who ever,  is "RIGHT THERE" only feet away.

The secondary sweet spot is about row 3-5 and sounds so real it is scary

And then I have the third spot and it is more like sitting in the middle of the hall.

I'll post some pictures soon, right now I'm too busy listening. 8)

Nice move John! :D So is the Bryston powering your 2-channel setup now, and where is your HT setup located now? You need to update your system/s besides show us the pics  Congrats on the improvement and the purchase of the Minimax!

Thanks,

To bad your not down here for a little listen.  I'm still using the Cinenova for the 2 channel system and will be using the 3rd channel soon for the LARGER SUB (but with the bass I am now getting by moving the 626Rs slightly closer to the walls, I'm not sure I'll need it.

I think Mark's cabinets will be here soon and I will probably get another pair of RM40s :o  :o

Pics will come soon, but the listening enjoyment just blew me away.

Clear, 3-Deep, Detailed, and Low.  Thanks to the MiniMax and the room re-do.

Just tried another different tube (HiVac) and although it is too early to "turn it up" (7:30 AM and upstairs neighbor is pregnant) it sounded incrediblbly "full" at relatively low levels.

You might have to "go tubular" (or at least audition this Lil'beast)

I am stilled floored by the bass I'm getting from these 626Rs.

I know I have marveled about that from the first day I got them, but it must be my room since at HarleyMike's they sounded "lousy" in comparison.

I auditioned the PipeDreams at CES (my CD, my cut, and directly in the sweet spot).

Over $75,000 of speakers and electronics.  What I heard yesterday (except for ultimate SPL levels) sounded better!!!

Better depth, better clairity, better soundstage, more precise detail and beleive it or not better bass!!!!

Out of the whole show, the only thing that I heard that matches or beat what I heard last night was the TADs and even then it was close.

Guess now I can buy that Viper, with all the cash I have left over 8)

Yeah, I'd like to hear your system again, as I know you have made a lot of changes. I would love to get the EA P-3A in your system as well. I think you would be in for a shocker.

I do not intend on going "tubular" again, anytime soon. I am still interested in hearing the Minimax with NOS tubes. I certainly would not turn down any audio gear you or Bill want to send me to audition

Oh..and the Viper would make a nice little purchase. Not a bad car, for a domestic  Just make sure you hide the keys

Yeah, I'd like to hear that too :)

Wait till I get the new MLS RM-40's delivered and set up, and ya might have to "drop" in with the modded P-3A.

I also got a new pair of AudioQuest Pikes Peak speaker cables to "try out".  These some serious cables!!!  I'm starting to think that the DBS (dielecric bias system) really does make a difference.

I'm also probably going to pick up some more "acoustic foam" panels.

In my current room I am pretty much LEDE (in a creative sort of way) without totally covering my walls.
