They look like big INDUCTORS! Should be an interesting sound, but it CAN'T be good to connect your gear with inductors. Or can it?

Pez, those are the SECOND most advanced cables on the planet. Check out the super-exotic connector too - wow. How much did you pay for those?!

You know how coiled cables have that uncanny knack of twisting in such a way that you can never untangle them to save your life? Imagine the fun if that happened to those 'quiet coil' beauties! Ugh.

Actually, PJ, absolute zero on the Fahrenheit scale is -459 degrees. http://www.pa.msu.edu/~sciencet/ask_st/012992.html Certainly the temp listed here is positively sunny compared to absolute zero.

lol i would suggest that this cable actually has low inductance due to the positive and negatives being wound around eachother

what you WANT in an interconnect is low capacitance.

i would also suggest that the size of those conductors which look stranded too wouldnt be anywhere near as good as hair thin silver or even hair thin copper.

DIY people geeezus! If you can throw a grand at cables you wouldnt honestly be able to say you dont deserve a horrible horrible death, now, would you?

When you go "hair thin", you are introducing an entire new set of problems. There is currently no way to extrude wire higher than about 26 gauge without introducing siginificant abberations in the surface of the wire.

So is that $1399 per s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d out meter, or per coiled meter? If coiled, then how tightly is it coiled at the time it is measured? There's a good scam opportunity in there somewhere.

That's the coiled dimension. The further you stretch it out the more it costs. There is a wireless transmitter in the RCA jack which detects and sends the length of the cable to the company and the longer it is the more they deduct from your bank account. Coil it back in a bit and a few hundred bucks is credited back. Stretch it out really far and you may be in danger of being overdrawn. So if you want to save money, move your CD player a foot closer and you'll only be out the $1400 or so. It's a bargain I tell ya.
