FS: GR Research AV-3 (1st Gen) $450 - Los Angeles

I don't have any feedback yet here on audiocircle but you can check my feedback on ebay, id is akajimmyp.

I am upgrading my speakers and would like to sell these GR Research AV3's to help fund the upgrade. I believe this pair is a first generation AV3 using 6.5" woofers and the T1 tweeter and ports. I am the second owner. I bought this pair in 2003 or 2004 (I can't remember exactly when) from the person who made them. They are finished in an automotive finish. Depending on how much light and the angle of light, the speakers take on a unique hue. If there isn't any light, the speakers look like they have a black gloss appearance. With light, they can turn dark violet, and dark gray. There are some nicks in the paint (with the most obvious included in the pics below). We had visitors a few years back and some kid poked the tweeter dome with his finger, so the tweeters domes have dimples? The sound however, is untarnished and excellent since I got them from their previous owner. They look really nice and would make a great 2nd room setup.

I am looking for a local sale in LOS ANGELES 91406.      Price Dropped to $450

I think I have one T-1 tweeter out in the garage if it would help you sell your AV-3's (looks like one of yours is damaged).  Good speakers, they should sell at that price.

Some kid poked at the tweeter but just at the surface so no damage beyond that thin dome thankfully. If this thing sells I'll buy that T1 from you for the next owner on my tab  :)

You could try some bubble gum or duct tape to pull that out.

Best,

Without getting too close you can use the hose from a vacuum clear to put the tweeter out. I typically keep a couple of finger to each side of the hose to make sure that it doesn't get too close.

The use a hair dryer on a hot setting to heat the dome up a little and any wrinkles will go away.

Good luck on the sale. Those are a great value for someone.
