I thought I was done...

I've been working with Klaus on equipment for probably 20 years.  My first was a B grade green board Stratos.  I've been through the Candela and Tempest as well as various versions of Khartago's.  I invested in the Liquid speakers and have no intention of moving past those (if it is even possible at that price point!).

My last pre was a Roge 99 Super Magnum and I was quite happy with that.  Prior to that I was running this odd Candela/Kismet integrated mono.  One channel and the Candela was in a Kismet case with an external power supply and the other channel a Kismet in Khartago.  It worked but my ADHD probably just couldn't handle it and an opportunity came up to get that Rogue.  The Integrated sat in a corner.

I got with Klaus and asked that he convert the mono Kismet in Khartago to a stereo unit and he did.  I then had this crippled up Integrated and asked that he turn that into a stereo model also (but I really didn't know what I was going to do with it).

Klaus and I had some conversations on that unit and I ended up trading it plus some lettuce for an lightly used Symphonic Line RG3 MK5.  This was a bit above my current budget but sometimes opportunities come up that shouldn't be passed up.  So I sold off the Rogue and the matching tube sets I had stored away and came up with the bulk of my dues.

This has the external "Turbo" power supply with 2x 70,000 uf...ya...a total of 140,000 uf's for filtering.  It's quite the impressive power supply.  Chassis of both power supply and the unit itself are very heavy.  I doubt much, if any, aluminum is in use here.

I cannot say how happy I am with this RG3.  It's detail, resolution, response throughout the entire frequency spectrum is just spot on.  It does everything.

 :banana piano:

As usual Klaus' advice and equipment was spot on!  Thank you again, Klaus!

I owned a SL pre for a while and it was a damn fine piece of equipment.  Congrats on a stellar addition to the system!
