I bought  a Powervar 12 amp power conditioner that developed a buzzing noise. The guy that sold it to me told me to remove the top and tighten the metal plate over the transformer. I did that and most of the buzz went away. I tried a set of vibrpods underneath and that helped but there is still a very slight buzzing if you put your ear up to the speaker when no music is playing. I'd like to try some kind of damping material on the metal plate. Obviously, I would need something that wouldn't be affected by heat. Does anybody have any suggestions?

Thanks.

Dynamat Xtreme can withstand temperature extremes between -65°F and +300°F (-54°C to +149°C). So I'd imagine that'd suffice just fine.

I doubt your Powervar'd get toastier than that...

And if you don't want to spend a ton on it, check eBay

I'm planning on getting one of the Xtreme Bulk Packs (#10455) off eBay shortly as it's very usefull stuff, and getting it off eBay is $150 cheaper than buying it at SRP locally...

Have you tried that Thunder stuff, Brian?  I wonder how it stacks up to D'Mat?  The price is certainly great if the product is as good.  I still haven't bought anything to line my PC case (I just bought a second hard drive this week, an 80 Gig Seagate Barracuda- don't wanna blow too much more on my computer right now as I also bought a new printer a couple weeks ago).

Nahh, not tried any of the Dynamat competitors yet.

I've been more than happy with the D'Mat Xtreme so far. I've not found it to be too expensive (as long as you're not buying their "computer kits"). So I don't find much need to try some no-name competitor.

Especially after I checked into buying it off eBay. So I'm gonna buy a Xtreme Bulk Pack off eBay and line the floor of my truck with it as well as use it for other various audio/'puter/game applications...
