Has anyone had experince with www.bowtechnologies.com?????

They have great reviews( I am a big Hi-Fi news and What hi-fi reader) and some interesting things are coming down the pike at a great price point.

I had some a few years back. My review of their integrated amp should still be in the archives of http://www.tnt-audio.com .

At the time, I was rather disappointed with that amp. Despite its very high price, immaculate outside finish, the inside construction wasn't much to speak of, and worst of all, its performance was way below par for its price class. My impression was that the amp was choking, and as luck would have it, my initial measurements (showing a power output of some 38W where the declaration says 50W) were almost identical to what Stereophile got.

It did all right at lower levels into easy loads, but ran into trouble with reactive loads (and my venerable AR94 speakers are a hard load to drive, appearently a hallmark of all better AR models). The soundsatge would go all mushy, space would be lost and it was fairly obvious the amp was having trouble with the loads. Since its internals showed well dimensioned power supplies, I surmised the trouble was with the design itself.

Whatever it was, the whole was rather a letdown at the time. However, several years have passed since, and it is to be hoped that they did something about that, and hopefully progressed since then.

Cheers,
