Tim Rawson Hypex UcD stereo amp for sale. Is less than one year old and in pristine although DIY condition (thus the 7/10 rating). The parts alone cost $800 (Hypex stuff is pricey) with a beefy traditional PS. 400W into 4 ohm. It has both XLR and RCA binding posts. For those in the know, Hypex is the cat's meow of the digital domain with a detailed but organic and listenable sound. I am liquidating since I am in need of single chassis, multi-channel amplification. Functionally, the amp runs kool and has performed flawlessly. The only issue is this: on turn-off, there is a small amount of noise discharged. This occurs since Tim did not use the Hypex PS module due to cost. According to the Hypex guys, this is an idiosyncrasy of their modules and their proprietary PS was designed accordingly. It is a minor issue and does not damage the speaker in any way according to both Tim and the Hypex guys. Due to the fact that it is digital, turning the amp on and off is not really necessary. Asking $650 obo.
