Can someone confirm that channel 1 is "left"?

Can someone confirm that channel 1 is "left"?

Okay, I'm having a blonde moment, can someone confirm that channel 1 is "left" and channel 2 is "right".

If you are talking about an amp you can wire it the way you like.  If you take the left preamp out to channel one then you want the speaker lead going to the left channel

Uh, wow. I haven't had to think about that since I was dealing with analog VTRs. Decades ago. Some manufacturers labeled the audio I/O on their decks Channel 1 (Left) and Channel 2 (Right).
