Question about the "L MONO R" switches on Insight EC pre amp.

I remember way back when having audio equipment that offered a "mode" switch, which allowed you to play just the left channel through both speakers, or just the right channel through both speakers.  On the Insight EC do the L MONO R switches operate the same way (i.e. both out "stereo", L only pushed in left channel through both speakers, R only pushed in right channel through both speakers and both L and R pushed in, MONO.)?

You are correct, this is the way the mono stereo switches do work on the new AVA SL and EC chassis.

Thank you for the response, Frank.  How far can I place the preamp from the power amp.  Can I place the power amp close to the speakers and run up to 20ft of "unbalanced" single ended interconnect between it and the pre-amp, for example if the preamp is in a rack with other equipment on another wall?

I strongly recommend that you keep the interconnect cable length between the preamp and the amplifier as short as practical.

The concept of long interconnects and short speaker wires is bass-ackwards in my book.  See my responce in the Couple of Questions Thread herein.

20 foot interconnects is probably OK if they are very well shielded and low capacitance.  Blue Jeans cables recommended.
