NE-7M and Nokia
« on: 20 Jan 2010, 05:16 pm »
Hey, I bought ne-7ms few days ago and noticed that they don't really work with nokia(N95 8GB) phones. You have to pull the jack out a bit or use adapter that works semi-good like suggested in this post http://www.audiocircle.com/index.php?topic=68446.0.

These sound a lot better than any of the nokia's(Nokia WH-701) headsets and I really would like to use the mic also.

I'm wondering if replacing the jack with another from nokia's controller unit will remove the need to pull out the jack?

Also, do you have any plans to support Nokia phones?

Sorry to double post, but I found out something very interesting.

I noticed that when the button in the mic is pressed down ne-7m's can be fully plugged in to the nokia phone. So pretty easy temporary solution with piece of tape.  :)

That's because there is no standard spec amount the mobile device with regards to the 4-pin plug  :(.  NE-7M was developed for iPod/iPhone.
You could exchange for NE-6.  But NE-7M is pretty useful if you also have Icon Mobile where it can be used with computer for voice messaging.
