I have an ART DI/O for sale. This one has some tasteful mods:
-Removed analog output caps and jumpered connections (more open sounding).
-Replaced 100 ohm input resistor at the digital input with 75 ohm resistor (smoother sound).
-Replaced stock op amp with Linear LT49740 op amp (better mid-range).
-Replaced stock RCA and pro connectors with Cardas connectors.
-Reduced pro 7 volt output to 2 volt internally.
-Replaced stock power supply with bigger Atari power supply (9 volt with 3.1 amps).
I have two other more heavily modded DI/Os, and need to sell this one as it’s sitting in the closet, being forelorn. This unit sounds very nice. The circuit of the DI/O just loves mods, as my more modded units sound even more refined than this one. For the money, one would be hard press to find a better sounding dac. I don’t have the Chinese 12AX7 tube in the a/d section that came with the unit, but you don’t need it if you’re not using the unit for recording.
