Modify My Dyna ST-70?
« on: 7 Mar 2010, 09:52 pm »
I have a pair of ST-70s modified slightly with a SV upgrade board which keeps the input circuit the same with a change from the 7199s to 6gh8s I did replace many of their components with better. The rectifier is HEXFRED. I am driving a pair of Spendor LS3/5a and using a single 10” Entec Subwoofer (powered, with servo) through its external splitter/crossover @ about 90hz. The question is would I still benefit from adding the additional input filtration per the July 1982 AUDIO BASICS article or should I just attempt a low pass with a 3db point of 17Khz. The second part of the question: The Entec uses a passive network in its splitter/crossover. Would I muck this up by installing a passive network in the input and or, will this play havoc with the new input filter?

Best Regards,
Bill
