The Acoustic Reality Avinci One is a high-end reference studio monitor handmade in Denmark using some of the finest drivers possible. To cut to the chase, these are
- Hiquphon OW1 (dome tweeter)
- Scanspeak Revelator (woofer - 5.5")
The cabinet is very solid - the front baffle is 22mm thick and the sides are 19mm, with a bass reflex port in the rear.
The sound quality is smooth and well integrated, with solid bass extension (down to 45db due to the excellent woofer in spite of the small size), a warm mid-range and a clean extended top end.
I am selling since I have more speakers than I can use. This pair has not been used recently and I am clearing things out in advance of an upcoming move. My asking price is $595, including shipping (in the original box & styrofoam inserts) and 3% Paypal. This is a great deal since the cost of the drivers alone is around $600 - which makes the cabinet, cross-over and the engineering behind these speakers essentially free. As a result, these speakers really compete with those that are several times more expensive.
For those not familiar with Acoustic Reality, they have been in the high-end business since 1996. They designed for several high end brands (including Bang & Olufsen) before launching their own branded amplifiers and speakers. Acoustic Reality launched the first commercially available ICEpower digital amp, technology which is now used by many high-end names, including Jeff Rowland and PS Audio.
