x-over inductors?

Do inductors in a crossover influence a driver's sound significantly?

Does the quality of the inductor, say ordinary copper vs Ohno cast copper, make a significant difference?

If you're comparing two inductors of the same type (Air core, for example), then there aren't huge differences in quality out there.  It isn't like the difference between capacitors.

IME, yes, they do.  For instance, when I replaced the stock iron-core inductors of my Maggies with Solo air-core ribbon coils, I got a better sound (better "punch").

You first say "quality of the inductor" ... but you then talk explicitly about the copper types?  IMO, copper foil will sound better than the same guage "magnet wire" style inductors.  Cast-copper inductors could definitely sound better than "ordinary copper" ... but the purity of the copper and/or its mechanical structure will only have a lesser additional benefit (compared to air-core vs. iron-core and ribbon vs. round-wire).

Inductors with cores have magnetic hysteresis and saturation issues which result in non-linearity.

The non-linearity should be negligable at normal levels in quality parts and increase considerably as you pass the rated 'power' (current actually) level for the part.

Air core inductors do not suffer this non-linearity.

As far as type of copper and capacitors are concerned this is related folks imaginations.
