Need help with new Home Theater - what speaker cable?

Hi,

I am a 2 Channel guy but am helping my brother-in-law with his custom HT install.
I'll update this thread with other needs but he wants to know what speaker cable can he buy as he wants to run it through the walls ...

Belden makes some reasonably priced decent sounding cabling that's in-wall rated. What guage he requires will depend on the power of the amps, the speaker impedance, and the distances to be run. 12ga should be plenty. There are other options if he wants to go 'higher end' depending on the equipment he's using.

What sort of consulting are you looking for? I do home theater designs from the ground up all the time.

If $ is an issue, any generic 12 or 10Ga. wire will work as well as the most expensive, over designed & arcane cables on the mkt., IMO. However, if you need a "name"cable, Blue Jeans fit your application. Good bang for the buck too.
