How to reverse a playlist?
« on: 9 May 2010, 11:49 pm »
I have a playlist I have assembled-along the lines of 500 essential songs.  When creating the playlist I started with track #1, then #2, etc.  Is there any way of easily redoing the playlist so that my squeezebox will start at the last track and work up instead of down?

Is this playlist a simple text file?  I can toss you a unix command to reverse a file to a new filename if you are using a mac, Linux or brave the world of cygwin.com on a PC.   Perhaps if one is spreadsheet savvy you could do the same there but GUIs scare me ;).

I don't know Unix at all, but someone explained to me a simple way to do it.  Load the playlist into foobar, hit CTRL-A to highlight all the songs, then Edit (tab) -Sort- and it gives you the option to reverse the playlist.  Then just save it under foobar-I used the mu3 format there and used Playlist Creator 3 to reload the playlist and save it in the format I wanted.  Great and simple solution.

BTW slimserver requires absolute playlists and somehow my drive letters changed (I think because I used my DVD drive recently) so I did load the playlist into my word processor and did a mass edit to change the drive letter.
