Eric's Lamgorghini Super Fly Yellow ST's

Eric's favorite color is yellow.  He already has an HT2-based home theater set-up, but one day asked if we would ever consider doing a "custom" pair of SongTowers is his favorite shade of yellow.  "Of course we would," I said.

He also requested black pin stripes but didn't know exactly what to do.  One of our staff members, John Fallows, is a car nut.  So we went online and he found pictures of some old Dodge Superbees from the 70's done in yellow and black.  He also pointed out that the Dodge R/T's often use the same color combination.

So we played with pin striping on the computer and came up with a design that reminded us of the type of simple, but not subtle graphics, these cars are known for.

Originally I thought of mixing some gold metalflake in the topcoat.  But the Superbees were done in an era before metalflake became fashionable.

Here's a look at the results...

These speakers are now on their way to Las Vegas.  Happy listening Eric!

What the heck is that behind the speakers? Is it a squirrel on steroids or prairie dog?

Oh my, those are amazing!  I don't know how you and your team do it Jim, but those look brilliant!  It's as if the paint actually used on Lambo's was applied to the ST's.

Job well done, Jim!  Enjoy, Eric!

It is in fact the Lamborghini Super Fly Yellow automotive paint color----I was able to see them in their initial phase and the pictures do not reflect how rich the color actually is nor how immaculate a finish it possesses. A true work of art and i am truly excited to see the finished product in person--Eric

That would be quite appropriate since they are the SongTower "RT" version (ribbon tweeter).

These are the STs I auditioned, thanks Eric! I can tell you they look sooooo much better in person! I was truly impressed with them aesthetically but even more so to my ears! I can't wait to get mine, although not in yellow ;)
