Incredible Sound - but still confused on cable.

So taking the plunge I got 2 icons, 2 sets of S-1's, and the W-1 sub.  The one meter cord supplied isn't enough for the rears and I have been reading conflicting posts on wiring cat-6 for an extension.  It is my understanding that you don't have to wire anything special at all, simply buy a piece of cat-6 with RJ-45 plugs on each end : is this correct?

Running both amps from outputs on Asus P6T Deluxe v2, and let me tell ya, it breaths life into all my music and games.  I hear about this 40 hour burn-in period makes it even sound better, so I'm pretty excited.  I'm not sure if plugging the sub directly into the soundcard would make a difference, so it's running off the line-out off the icon as instructed.  Any feedback would be appreciated.

There are two ways to extend the cable:
1) Use a RJ45 coupler (the easiest for anyone who don't want to mess with wiring).
2) Use a long Cat5 cable and wire up according to spec on http://www.nuforce.com/hp/products/icon/index.php

If you're getting the sound from USB Audio, I am not sure you can plug the sub to your internal sound card since it would be turned off.
