I do not have the Companion, but the Super Companion. I have no complaints, it is a good bang for the buck. Makes a subtle difference, not as much background hash and the highs are smoother.
Gives me a piece of mind with surge protection too.

PS - You notice the effects of such items when they are taken out of a system (after awhile) as compared to putting them in.
