Rachel, can the DAC-09 be run as a pre as delivered or is some tweak required?  Thanks.

Ian had told me that moving a jumper can get the volume control in front of everything turning it into a pre-amp.

I can set it for you as a preamp before shipping or you can do it yourself. It only involves taking the cover off (many screws :) and move a jumper cable. There is an instruction file on the product page on our site - towards the bottom of the page. Very low tech tweak :) If I can do it, everyone can do it!
