Well, thanks to you and Tyson I'll be using Penta Labs KT88SCs come Monday or Tuesday. Up until now it's been JJ KT88s and they sound great to me,
in my amps. I have an octet of Shuguang EL34s from the early 90's (prior to the big fire, I believe) that I am going to try out in the interim.
In a thread @ Audio Nervosa our man Richidoo has mandated I should also try SED "'winged C" 6550, GL KT88, and last, but certainly not least, the Shuguang "Black Treasure" KT88-Z. I'll "allow"
his Experimental Components Fund to take care of the "acquisition phase" as mine isn't as well funded. I promise not to put more than 200 hours on the tubes (after break-in, of course).
Most likely I will give the SED and GL a try at some point but not all at once.
I'll start a thread when I have something to report.

PS - Oops...I didn't really respond to the question so for now my "favorite KT88" is the JJs I am running at present. That may change.
