Up for sale is an Audio by Van Alstine Ultra SL preamp.  This is the latest iteration of Frank Van Alstine's hybrid tube/solid state preamp circuitry.  I am the orginal owner and bought this preamp less than a year ago, so there are more than two years left on the transferrable warranty.  This unit is loaded with the remote control and excellent phono preamp options.  Gain is 20dB for the line section, and 40dB for phono.  It uses two 6N1P and two 12AX7 tubes.  The stock tubes will be included and have light usage, so they should last a long time.  Cosmetically, this preamp is practically in brand new condition with no scratches or blemishes.  All functions work perfectly.  The box, manual, and remote control will be included.

How many outputs active at one time?

There are two pair of stereo preamp outputs (variable level for driving multiple power amps or subs), and two pair of stereo tape outputs (fixed level).  Hopefully, this answers your question.

Is this still available?
I was thinking of going this route. I have Quad 2905's and am going to try the Ultra 350 with them, as others have said that the amp goes really well with electrostatics.
Has anyone compared the sound of the Ultra SL preamp with phono to other pre-amps and/or phono stages?
Also, has anyone compared the sound of the Ultra series amps with other amps?
