Classic artists playing new music?
« on: 31 Aug 2009, 10:40 pm »
I grew up listening to the best of the 60s and 70s (and sometimes, 80s) like Lynyrd Skynyrd, The Allman Brothers, Frampton, etc. Who are your favorites from that genre? Favorite songs?

How do you feel about classic musicians releasing new albums? I feel like it doesn't matter how long they've been around if they're still making good music. I thought of this because John Fogerty's new album is on sale on Amazon today... http://bit.ly/JFBlueRidge. Springsteen (the BOSS!!) is featured on a cover of the Everly Brothers' "When Will I Be Loved." Kinda makes me want to check it out...

Has anyone heard it? What do you think of older artists releasing new music?

I was thinking CCR even as I was opening this post, CCR are one of my favorite bands of all time.  I guess once someone becomes your favorite band or artist you do look forward to everything from them and do end up getting it to give it a listen.
