"Each of the cabinets weighs in at 87 pounds!"

not sure if that's the finished product or not, but should be a good ballpark ;).

JP,

The reason I asked the question is because I assumed the 1 in. MDF cabinets were 87 lbs. I was wondering if there's a wait diff.

drcruz - i went back and reread the entire page to understand your meaning...i had no idea the standard cabinets weren't 3/4 inch . looks like i'll leave this matter to the experts!

If a standard cabinet, which is made from 1" thick MDF, weighs 87 lbs, maybe it'll knock off 20 lbs to use 3/4" instead.  So, 103 lbs - 20 lbs = 83 lbs.  So, I'd guess somewhere in that 83 lb range, give or take a few.  Totally speculative on my part.

"Mathgeek" doing a math problem for me...How cool is that  :)

JP, No need to be embaressed (easily misssed). If I buy a pair of floorstanders I would like them to be able to go down close to 30 Hz AND to be easily transportable by me. I don't want the hassle tuning a subwoofer for the low end.

They are hefty.  I am pretty sure that number is for an empty cabinet.  My V3's were about 110 lbs each unboxed.

Big Red, Thanks for the info, that was my next question...(i.e., "How heavy are the V3's?")
