Good deal on a T8 DAC

This looks like a very decent deal on a T8 DAC.  Don't know if it has the upgraded op-amps.

Agreed; this is one hell of a deal on a great DAC. :thumb:

Aside from how quiet the T8 DAC is; once broken in, removing it from the system every so often makes one realize how very special this DAC really is. Soundstaging, tonal clarity, and balance all shine through in an eerily appealing way.

The upgraded op-amp improvement is so inexpensive that at the published price it doesn't matter whether it has been done yet or not. (IMHO).

How're the HT2s?  :)

Have fun,
Jerry

The HT2-TL are great.  I have a tiny room, but I enjoy them much more than the LS3/5A-type speakers that I listened to previously and more than the SongTower Ribbon Tweeter that I had immediately preceding the HT2-TL.  The HT2-TL go very low, and I have a problem with excessive bass in the mid-40 cycle range (a node? a mode? who knodes?), but I think that three cases of OC703 (which translates to (12) more 6" thick broadband acoustic panels) will help.   :D   Rigid fiberglass is every music lovers' friend.

I am enjoying my T8+ DAC, too, especially with the U70 amp.  On some recordings, the T8+ DAC/U70 combo brings out some "earthiness" that the Insight+ DAC/U70 combo is a little lean with.

With the two amps and two DACs, my fantasy is No, honey, that's not what I am writing about having the ability to swap components in and out with out too much shlepping and meshuggenah.
