Steve Blinn Designs has always had a mission to produce the very best reference quality equipment racks, amp stands and component platforms possible. The goal has never been to meet the expectations of the audiophile community, it was to exceed them. We don't offer different qualities and grades of amp stands because our research always led us to one single best construction technique and to a small select combination of materials with which to accomplish our goal.
.
We tested and evaluated many materials and build techniques in an effort to determine which was the best to manufacture our products. The results consistantly brought us back to one type of aluminum, one type of shelf and one vibration isolation mechanism to use in the manufacture of every one of our products.
.
We have always believed that the key was to offer a well thought out, carefully made product and to use a straightforward, honest presentation in order to be successful. We believe that we're on the right track and have been extremely encouraged by the rapid growth of our company and the high positive feedback that we have been experiencing.
.
You will not find a better equipment rack, amp stand or component platform anywhere...including those costing 2 and 3 times our price. Cary Audio Designs chose our amp stands to introduce their flagship mono-block amps at the Consumer Electronics Show.
.
We believe that our products are superior to anything else you can buy. But, don't just take our word for it. Please take a few moments and read what the professionals have said. Check out a review that was conducted by Howard Kneller and appeared in "Home Theater & Sound".

Our equipment racks and amp stands are of the highest caliber, using the construction technique outlined below. If you are looking for a superbly built 2, 3, 4 or 5 shelf equipment rack, A/V rack, amp stand or component platform, then you need not look any further.
.
The frame of each equipment rack and amp stand is built with precision CNC machined aircraft aluminum to create the most stable, rock solid foundation possible. The horizontal support beams can be infinitely adjusted to suit your exact spacing needs. Each unit is fitted with adjustable spiked feet (included, not an expensive add-on) which not only couple the structure solidly to the floor but which also allow for exact leveling adjustments. We include four metal protective pads which may be used (if desired) under the spikes to protect floor surfaces.
.
After testing many materials for the construction of our shelves, we determined that maple was, without doubt, the best choice available to isolate and control vibrations. Maple is, without doubt and by far, the top choice of all the wood varieties. It is far sturdier and more effective than MDF, will not ring like stone, granite, glass or synthetic substances and will not contribute any resonant characteristics to the sound your system produces. Maple is more expensive than any of these other materials, but it is the best, end of story! The construction of our maple slab itself, makes it many times stronger than a single piece of maple. The maple couples to the stand using a proprietary shelf suspension system of load rated copolymer hemispheres which further enhance the vibration isolation of the structure. The maple appears to float on the aluminum chassis, but has become, in essence, one with the frame by employing this mechanism.
.
Our base prices always includes silver anodized aluminum for the support structure, 4 heavy adjustable spikes and your choice of our 5 stains to finish the maple shelves. For the pricing on options such as our hand applied satin black acrylic finish for the maple shelves, the black anodizing for the aluminum and the maple trim inserts, please go to our website at www.steveblinndesigns.com or, better yet, give me (Steve) a call at (917) 361-4701. I will be more than happy to answer all of your questions.
.
The following heights are offered for your convenience as a starting point to estimate your overall rack height requirements:
2 shelf racks are 21" tall, 3 shelf racks are 31" tall, 4 shelf racks are 41" tall and 5 shelf racks are 53" tall. Please keep in mind that we can produce virtually any width, depth, height or number of shelves you require.
