Customer Service????
« on: 24 Jun 2009, 10:50 pm »
I currently have Ascend Acoustics Sierra Ones in my system. The Sierras are a remarkable speaker in my opinion- especially in their price range. The fit and finish is excellent, and they are a wonderful sounding speaker in my opinion. From all indications the Sierras bring alot of the same sonic attributes to the table as the Sapphires

However, I have recently developed a strong interest in the Sapphire XL. I have made a couple of efforts to get in touch with Mike D. It seems the only way to get in touch with him is through email. I just had a couple of questions to ask him about the Sapphires. Those efforts by me have proven to be a waste of time. He has promised to phone me and I have basically just been "blown off". I guess I should be pissed off, but I am not. This kind of treatment just makes me more geeked to hear this speaker. It must be good if Mike doesn't want to waste his time talking about it. I guess I should just fork out almost two grand on a pair, and pray that I can get in touch with them if I do not like them within the 30 day period.

What kind of a company would not publish a phone number on their website? Obviously the Sapphire must be a wonderful speaker, that is capable of selling itself.

Don't know the answer to your question, but Google finds

608-784-4570

associated with two different addresses

901 S. 4th St.
La Crosse, Wisconsin

and

571 West Ave N
West Salem, WI 54669-1078

Both addresses are different cities than the P.O. Box on the website which is
Onalaska, WI 54650

Could be all old information, and perhaps the company has moved once or twice, but you could try the number.

The Sapphire XLs have garnered rave reviews, and forum owners seem quite happy and loyal, so it might be worth your persistance.

James:

I apologize. I have lots of excuses, but they really don't matter, I told you in the PM I'd call, and I just haven't had the chance yet. I WILL make the call today.

Hello,

I had the Sierras too, which are a good speaker for the money.  I took my speakers to a shootout with someone who had the Sapphires (B-stock).  I found the sonics very different between both sets of speakers.  Overall I thought the Sapphires blew away the Sierras.  I offered the guy five bills plus my Sierras and he went for the deal.  These are some the best speakers I've ever heard.

Sometimes we have to remind ourselves to grant a little grace to owners of small specialist businesses like ACI. We 21st century consumers get used to instant gratification/placation and we need to realize things fall through the cracks unless a business model has three layers of redundancy in the customer service dept. Of course, ACI couldn't offer the marketplace bargains they do if that were the case.  In any event, as an ACI customer, I found them to be responsive and accessible. Mike answered all my questions during my consideration of purchase and never gave a hard sell. Later, when I had a problem with my speaker binding post, ACI was quick to offer help with all reasonable solutions.  I won't name names, but believe me, there are several high profile audio manufacturers I've purchased from who are owned by personality challenged incompetents as far as  their customer service skills go. ACI/Mike Dzurko is NOT among that less than elite group.

Hi all:
File this in the "Good Guy" files: I ordered cable from Mike during his last sale...The package and shipment was "misplaced" by the shipping company (no names, but brown comes to mind). Mike was notified of the problem and he promptly shipped a replacement package to me (which I received in perfect order)...It is testament to Mike's character to do the right thing for his clients...I had not done business with Mike prior to this, so when the original package was late in arriving, I was going "uh-oh"...The fault was not his, but the resolution points him to being one of the good guys...

Thanks everyone, the kind words are appreciated!

BTW, I did give the gentleman a call that day as promised and I don't recall all the details but we had a nice chat.
