Looks like THE Show has moved to the Flamingo which is walking distance now from the Venetian.

This will likely "improve" the reduced traffic due to the distance imposed last year.  Hopefully the economy will be rebounding a bit too.

This is the first I have heard of this.  That will mean complete from the ground up planning for the Live vs Recorded demo.  The system was all dialed in to the room used at the Alexis Park last January.  In theory going back and using that same room would have allowed a great leap in getting it right much sooner.  Now it will be back to square one.  Will the plan still remain to do another live vs recorded event because of this?  Does any one know about the banquet room sizes available at the Flamingo for demos?

Brian posted me that the Ballroom is 28x62'.

It appears that the ceiling height for most of the ball rooms at the Flamingo are lower than the one for the Zeus at the Alexis Park.

Those tall tri-corners in the Zeus were causing some issues too far out of reach to control.  I know that plans were in the works to attempt to control them for next year.  But, now with lower ceilings the same problem may not be present, or will at least be easier to address.

Yes, the 9ft ceiling at the Flamingo should not exhibit the extreme amount of slap echo heard at the Alexis Park Zeus Ballroom, with its 17ft ceiling.

We are considering the "Lake Mead I and II", a space with a combined 28x64x9' measurement set.  This space can be partitioned at several points.  We plan to shorten it to between 32' to 38' in length, allowing us to control reverb time with a reasonable amount of acoustic treatment.  The false back wall will be heavily damped and braced.

I am now quite addicted to the live-vs-recorded concept and can't imagine doing a Show without it.
