Happy 4th !
« on: 2 Jul 2009, 03:54 pm »
Just a quick note to wish the AVA 'family' a Happy holiday. As for me, I am hoping to spend some time outdoors enjoying a cigar, then some time indoors enjoying a recently purchased lot of ~ 700 78's, using my AVA Insight system and Mag 3.6R's.

Long live vinyl,,,,,and also shellac ! aa

Best regards,

Mark

Same for me, Happy 4th of July!!  I wil spend some time outside with the grill and then more time inside with my AVA & Maggie 3.6's also.  My OmegaStar EC is at AVA receiving the Insight+ upgrade so it's Super Pas all the way, maybe I will hook up my Ultimate 70 to the Maggies and just see how well it really does.

Happy Holiday

Thanks for the kind thoughts you guys.

I will indeed by up at the lake for the 4th, helping do our own fireworks display.  Its amazing what you can buy these days - better than we used to have years ago at the county fair.  I love the 500 shot repeating rocket bombs, except for picking up all the bits and pieces from my friends lawn the next morning.

I think part of freedom is the ability to be able to buy enough fireworks to blow yourself up if you are not careful, and even if you are careful.  Too bad they are all made in China.  I wonder how many blow themselves up there in the making of the stuff process.  :(

See you all on Monday.

Best regards,

Frank Van Alsitne

A cop knocked own my door at about 11:00 PM, tonite. Asked me about my car, went to look at it, said someone pissed on it. Guessed who it was. Cop asked if I gave permission for him to do so. He said he didn't think so, so he gave him a ticket...so he would have to go to court to explain to judge . He said he also made him wash it all off. He said my bass was too loud..but my unit wasn't on, it was the bar across the street...as usual on Friday nights. I shook his hand.        Happy 4TH..indeed.

Not all  are made in China.  Our neighbors here in Loveland Ohio, the  Rozzis, make the big fireworks right here in Loveland.  This year they did the 4th of  July fireworks in Boston:

The Chinese invented the black powder, of course most fireworks are made in China.

Often time, the Chinese made product are at higher quality, just ask the Quad Company, they said during an interview that they couldn't have gotten such high quality if their speakers were still made in the Great Britain.

I didn't start this geo-political conversation, Frank did.

Happy 4th!

Watched the Red Sox blow their lead and lose to the Mariners today.  The weather was beautiful, however.  Two Air Force jets flew over Fenway Park during the National Anthem, and a gigantic American flag was unfurled against the Green Monster.  There were numerous attendees that couldn't be bothered to stand up of take off their hats during the National Anthem, which is disgraceful, IMO, although everyone has a right to express themselves or not express themselves in the way that they chose.

I have had an enjoyable day with my wife and kids, and I am posting this while the grill is heating up, and my wife and kids are taking a walk around the neighborhood.

Tonight, American-made fireworks will light up the Birthplace of Liberty's sky.

Out here in Kandahar, Afghanistan, we had a rocket attack on July 1 which is Canada Day. We were all walking around wondering if they would try and give us a show on July 4th as well. No dice. Closest thing was a warning of a controlled explosion in 10 minutes.

floresjc,

Thank you for your service. The men and women who are currently serving in Afghanistan and Iraq are always on the back of my mind, especially the ones who lost their lives serving their country.

I went to a "private" fireworks display in Wisconsin. Some people just have way too much money. Frank was not at this location. Beer was drank, snacks were eaten and the show lasted almost 50 minutes!

Good to be back home!
