Didn't mute the preamp while fiddling with the interconnects. :duh:

One channel on my McCormack is fine but the other is not. I'm getting a crackling sound out of the damaged channel. I dont plan on repairing this myself.
Anyone care to guess whats damaged? Is this a major repair?
I cant be the only knucklehead here who did this, can I?

Nah!  I'd be willing to bet most of us have done something similar at some point.  I cratered an amp by suddenly throwing the wrong circuit breaker off and on.............prettiest little cloud of black smoke you ever saw!   :banghead:

Well, I'm relieved.

Called a local tech guy who recommended that I check the fuses. Really? Something that simple ?
I was expecting the worst.

Took the top off and low and behold the fuses were blown.
