New Wadia 381...
« on: 22 May 2009, 04:45 pm »
FedEx just dropped off my new Wadia 381  :green:

I bought it through Great Northern Sound Company and since it was the first unit sold Steve Huntley threw in his "Statement" level upgrade as a bonus!

This thing is built like a M1 Main Battle Tank

New gear and a long weekend to get aquainted :thumb:

Very cool, Eric.  As soon as it has settled in, you need to invite some guys over to hear that through the Thiels and big Macs.  Congrats on the new piece.

Mark,

Wait til you hear the system now that I've hooked the Thiels up to the 8 ohm posts.  beaucoup low end and much more "meat on the bone" in the mids and I haven't tripped the thermal protection circuit...yet!
Steve told me it will take some time to plateau but I should immediately hear what it's capable of.
It's built like a tank...shipping weight was 62 lbs

I'm just glad I'm not your neighbor
Enjoyed the K Krimson the other day, thanks for bringing it round for me to hear.
Got more major good feedback on Jeffs work today. He's quickly building up a good client base.

Glad you liked it...that incarnation is known for its ferocious live performances. I have Bath and London shows from that same period on the way and hopefully they are of similar quality.

Picked up an "old" (circa 1978) Sansui TU-717 and am in the process of negotiating a deal on a AU-717 to match.
I'll be dropping them off with Jeff for inspection & tune-up before I take them home.
