Crackling sound from Nuforce NE-7M
« on: 30 Apr 2009, 01:10 pm »
Received my replacements from Nuforce a couple of days ago to replace a defective unit.

This one seems fine but, one thing I notice is that if I have the left earphone in and try pushing it in more or wiggling it around, it produces a crackling sound.

Listening to music sounds fine, but the crackling sound appears only when I try pushing the left earpiece in more. The right side doesn't exhibit this problem.

Is this normal or in need of another replacement?  :(

Is it due to the silicone tip rubbing against your ear canal? Does the crackling sound persist?
Do you get crackling sound if you use the left ear piece on the right ear?

Jason,

I'm using the foam tips that came with it and the comply T-400 tips as well.  Even if I switch off the tips and use any combination, only the left earphone crackles when i push it into my ear.  The right earphone does not crackle in any way no matter which piece (left or right) I'm using.  It's not even a hard push but, just a little push will produce heavy crackling sounds in the left earphone.

I'm just worried that the problem will eventually get worse.

You're the unlucky one but we will take care of it with no hassle for you.  Just re-open the help desk ticket (http://www.nuforce-icon.com/service-refund.htm) or log a new one. Tell us this is DOA case (even though you can still use it) and we'll send replacement with postage paid return envelope.
