I have 2 Altec 416-8C 15" drivers for sale. For those who don't know, these are the latest drivers that were used in the Altec Model 19 speaker. I would describe the sound from these guys as big and extended. They reprdouce voices extremely well.
They are both in great working condition. I was told that they were reconed by Bill at Great Palins Audio by the previous owner. But, I have no way of proving this. What I do know is that they worked great for me in 5 cu foot cabinets tuned to about 40Hz. However, these drivers could be used fuill range if so desired. They do reproduce some real nice bass. However, I always run any drivers I have very conservatively. So, I actively crossed over to a sub at 120Hz. with these guys. In other words, they were never pushed hard while I had them -- about 3 years.
Operationally they are both in fantastic condition. Cosmetically, one is in real nice shape. The other one has some paint that peeled off the inside of the frame. But structurally, they are both solid.
The clean one I will sell for $175 plus actual UPS shipping. The second one I will sell for $150 plus actual shipping. These dirvers are heavy and I prefer to ship them seperately.
I have included some pics below. The slightly darker frame is the clean one. The second one has a lighter gray color to the frame.
