Not cinema, but Flight Of The Conchords is a wonderful HBO comedy series with great original music. Highly recommended.

Dumb, dumber, dumbest.  Yep, I don't like this show and there's not much I don't like with these HBO & Showtime show originals. I watched this show regularly for the 1st year, it was ok at first but the more I watched it, the stupider it got for me. It's deadpan comedy to me and I ignore it like the plague now. But hey, that's just me,,, everyone's funnybone reacts differently. Gee I wonder if the funnybone is connected to the eardrum???

Cheers,
Robin

Watched Disc2 this week, truly funny.  For my wife and I, similar to great Saturday Night live comedy, looking forward to season 2.

I heard the CD, haven't seen the show but
Bowie and Robots are funnier than heck!

But why are tickets to their shows like 200 to 400 bucks?

Great show  :thumb:

Anyone catch Danny McBride's new HBO show Eastbound & Down yet? It is pretty crude but man is it funny

1st season of Flight was classic to me - every show had something hilarious.  This season feels a little more contrived, but last night was pretty good.  The 1st season, they went through almost all of their songs that they had built over a career, and just fit episodes to those songs.  For this year, they had to build a bunch of new songs quickly, so it doesn't seem the same.  But still funny nonetheless IMHO...

Yeah this is surrealistic comedy, with surrealistic homage-type songs. I compare it to Monty Python. The 2 musicians and their manager are Kiwis (new Zealanders) trying to make it in New York.

Kristen Schaal who plays Mel, their married groupie, is one of my favorite characters on the show --> http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zh3T-Md3s9s

The 2 guys have been building their characters for 10 years as comic actors.

The success if season 1 may kill the HBOshow because they are featuring guest stars now, yet there doesn't seem to be enough of the original momentum of creativity. And how far can you take the jokes unless they either hit it big or change careers...

Loved Season 1 although it was a little threadbare towards the end.  Season 2 - the first episode is great but the rest of the episodes after it have been very disappointing. Shame.

I thought the last episode was great...and I'm a fan of the new NZ/Aus rivalry, but I understand some of the grumblings about the new season.
