Hello celebrat,
Congratulations on your new speakers. I've told this story to a few of the local audio enthusiast's who by now are getting tired of hearing it. I had the opportunity of listening the Supravox OB's when they were first fired up. Although it was obvious that these were a fine components I felt that the speaker as a whole was going to need a lot of work. The next day I received a phone call from one of the projects participants explaining that after a mere 10 hours of use that the speakers had completely transformed themselves. He suggested that I have another listen before Tom picked them up. Well I made it over, and I'm sure glad I did! :o As suggested, these had gone from a good speaker to a exceptionally great speaker in just a few hours and had I not heard this for myself I wouldn't have believed it. Yes, on that day, in that system, these were one of the best speakers I have ever heard and that includes a lot of the ones that you've listed. aa Glad to hear your happy with your purchase.
Enjoy, Frank

I was perusing the interesting Supravox website in response to the mentions here and stumbled onto this interesting page displaying many somewhat radical European takes on DIY hi-fi.

I see the unusual 16" Supravox silver voice coil electromagnetic field coil driver being used in two ways to 500 Hz to be handed off to a ribbon tweet in a couple of designs, also a Supravox 215 (8") being used in a three way only from 200 - 600 Hz! (Karl Kühner's design)

Here's the 400mm driver:

I thought some would be interested in this glimpse into another way of doing things.

Hi Frank
People may be getting tired about hearing the story about these speakers, but they won't get tired of listening to them.

Hi.
I am the luck guy (I hope) who bought the Supravox OB speakers. I found out about OB after getting a RWA Sig 30 amp. I'm not much of a DIY person, but this looked so intriguing that even if I don't like the sound I can build something for the drivers. The seller says the bass is great but I was surprised w/ no box for the bass. I'll post again when I get it up and running. Thanks

Can you post pictures? The audiogon listing is not active anymore.
Does the speakers follow the OB Kit published on the Supravox website?

Very very tempting. I have to see if they can work decently with narrower baffles, since i cannot fit 60 cm in my room :(
ps: see pm.
