Hi.
I'm building a set of speakers, in each box there will be one tweeter and one woofer.
The tweeters will be either:
CTS/Motorola KSN1025B
2"x6" Piezo Horn Tweeter
Impedance: High at low frequency
Power: 75W
Freq. Resp.: 1.8 KHz - 30 KHz
SPL: 92db

OR

CTS/Motorola KSN1167A
2-1/2" Exponential Piezo Bullet Tweeter
Impedance: High at low frequency
Power: 75W
Freq. Resp.: 3.8 KHz - 30 KHz
SPL: 92db

I'm leaning towards the first one due to the greater range of frequency response.  Since these are going to be Woofer + Tweeter sets, properly covering the dynamic range IS a concern.  Now, is there any reason why I'd want to avoid Piezo tweeters?  Is there anything special I need to be concerned about?

The woofer will be:
Sammi CWR200B50
Impedance: 8 ohm
Power: 50W
Freq. Resp.: 24Hz - 4KHz
SPL: 85db

What type of crossover am I going to need?  I figure a cheap 2000 Hz crossover for the tweeter in each box would be fine, but what do I do about the woofer?  Can I just not run the connection through a crossover?  Or how should I connect it?

As well, is it possible to hook up a fuse to the line in to prevent blowing the speakers, or would a fuse not burn out fast enough to avoid damage anyhow?  Is there something I should/could do in this respect?

Thx in advance, and sorry for the x-posting.

you basically want to work within the limits of a driver plus a bit of head room for quality concerns so the second tweeter isnt a suitable match for that woofer because the woofer will be breaking up terribly at 4khz

im going to take a guess that the woofer is a 10" ..  so even with the tweeter going down to 2khz your going to be lacking detail in the midrange.

also the woofer is a lot quieter so your going to have to attenuate the tweeter... you might want to remember that :P

i have no experience with piezo's though so i cant make any suggestions as to the crossover or what not, but motorola is supposed to make good piezos!
