Hi all, I guess I didn't unscrew my Reality Cable IC quite far enough when I pulled it out of my cdp, and I yanked part of the female RCA plug out along with the cable.  I managed to separate the cable and the detached piece of the RCA cable, and re-insert it.  It looks like a red plastic piece was lost in the process.  Will this connection still work, or should I bring it to the local repair shop for what should be a quick fix?  Could it possibly harm my equipment to give it a try?

Also...how far should I unscrew the plastic casing of the Vampire plugs when connecting or disconnecting my Reality Cables?  All the way?  Stop just before it is completely unscrewed?  The fit is really, really tight on RCA's, and I always feel like I'm close to breaking something.

The jack itself is still in place.  You should do fine without the plastic insert.  IMHO, locking RCAs can be a general pain sometimes.  In the future I would make sure they are loosened all the way before trying to remove them.

BTW, there are a number of photo hosting sites that offer free accounts.  I have been using Village Photos for a few years now.  Because of my usage volume and patterns I've graduated to a paid account though, but free is still good for the moderate user.  Its certainly better than using Facebook.
