Ipod noob - sound quality issue, help!
« on: 23 Feb 2009, 03:07 am »
My 1st attempt to download music to my Nano IPod went relatively well.  However, occasionally I have noticed some songs when played back through the IPod are much lower in volume (db), have a cracking sound when turned up to normal listening levels, and sound quite compressed (muffled).

I have ruled out any of my personal Cd's that have been ripped to my computer and then downloaded to the IPod.  They all sound fine.

It only occasionally happens on songs that I have downloaded from Itunes. That is, not consistently on tunes downloaded from Itunes, only occasionally.  I have not done anything different during the download process to cause this situation to my knowledge.

Any reason why?  What can I do to correct this?

What kind of files did you RIP the CDs to? They wn'r sound anywhere near the CD unless you have made Apple Lossless Files
