Bugle power supply question
« on: 23 Mar 2009, 01:25 pm »
Have just got a Bugle power supply that I am boxing up. I am using it as a separate power supply to the Op amps in my power amps. Question is when I wire the ground outs (as it only has one place of contact in the power amp), it is OK to wire both ground out puts from the board together.

I guess I am not following you....

Did you use a dmm to confirm the two points as neutral?  Or are we discussing neutral and earth grounds?

Is your op amp a dual mono configuration?   This will present different issues.

I think in the end, you will only require a single 15.5v and a single neutral to power that op amp.

Hope this helps.

The two ground outputs from the bugle power supply are identical. Electronically they are the same. That means you can wire one or the other or both to your Power amp op-amps all day long. It doesn't matter.

What is concerning is whether your power op amps require a + - power supply or just a + power supply.
Most op amps require a plus and minus supply on pins 4 and 7 if it is a single op-amp. and pins 4 & 8 if it is a dual op-amp.

I hope you will check it out closely.

Yes, the output grounds are common.  You can use one or two wires, whichever you prefer.
