If this is not enough, just google "why does vinyl sound better than CD" and you'd get it all. I am sure if you google "why does CD sound better than vinyl" you'd get the other side of the argument.

But the other fun part about vinyl is, it's so satisfying to hunt down that rare prize record in good condition at low price.

Listens2tubes, Yes I have, I have 4 pair of 801s and 6 pair of 81s all from the same time 1967 and I really can't hear any difference between them, in the 550 or the T-DAC or the T-5  but I have a pair of Telefunken ECC81s from 1960 that seam to me to make the set sound better when I run them in the T-5.  :smoke:

Hey Mark,

It does seem to make a difference whether tubes are vintage or somewhat old, ie: Sylvania white label JAN 6922 of 1965 vs. Philips ECG 6922 of 1984,which Pearl matched, graded Ultra Low Noise and cryo'd to even compete with them. Of coarse there are some new tubes that get alot of praise, ie: the EH 12AX7 Platinum Matched I meantion in my previous post. As with anything else in HiFi it's what works for you in your system, and that's all that matters. Enjoy  :thumb:
