What is the sensitivity of your speakers? You see a difference of a couple of db either way could rule out an amplifier.

Wilson Audio Duette =89db 4 ohm nominal
Snell E-5 =89db 4 ohm nominal
Monitor Audio BR-2 =90db 6 ohm nominal

So really you would need about 70 or 80 Watts class A/B to get the speakers singing. You could have a look at this
http://www.leema-acoustics.com/amplifiers/pulse.html
and here
http://uk.cinenow.com/videos/1433-leema-acoustics-sound-vision

Their stuff is supposed to be good though I have not heard it it is made in Britain (still a good thing) :D
There is always Sugden if you fancied Class A and you could add a stereo power amp later if needed, they also support their products for years and years unlike most manufacturers at this price level. (If they still are trading in five years time of course). Sorry I can't be of more help.

When it comes to the Wilson Audio Duette - I think there are only two options to really entertain here;  the Naim Nait5i  (latest version) or the Vista Audio i-34.

The Luminance KST-150 is a finess SS amp found used for $1500 that would match well with these speakers.
I don't know how to link but it is on the virtualdynamics web site.

Really want to thank everyone for the input. I have been able to listen to many of these amps over many weeks. Will be able to test drive a Symphonic Line RG14, PS Audio and McCormack DNA shortly.

The winner is- McCormack DNA-125

Well it was late on the list, but it matches my criteria well. Also tried a Symphonic Line RG-14 that sounded very good, but not enough power even though it had a very large transformer.

Decided on a dedicated amp, not an integrated one. Using external DAC plugged directly into it.

Many of these amps were auditioned, and sounded good, but fell short on the needs/desires list.
Thanks for ALL the input.

Will post McCormack longer term listening results later (for anyone interested)....

The 125 is a very nice sounding amp, but it can be an exceptional amp that you can own for a lifetime with Steve Mccormack's rev mods.

Enjoy,
Bob

Its very hard to go wrong with McCormack.  They're excellent products sonically and build-wise.  They're a great company who treats its customers the way very few do.  I'd wish you good luck with it, but you most likely won't need any.

If you're interested in a Bryston B60, there's one on eBay (1999 version) for $640 and free shipping. I have no association with the seller. I own the SST version of this integrated. After 4 years, I have no inclination to sell it. It's that good.

Thanks for the heads-up on the Bryston. I did get the McCormack DNA-125 and so far it does sound sweet. Believe it or not, I also test drove a Symphonic Line integrated amp-also sounded very good. I listened to about 80% of the gear listed. Some companies/dealers did not have a home trial, and others were not at dealers I could try out.

My $.02 is that you've gotta hear these for yourself.  Your ears, room and preferences are likely wayyyyyyy different than mine.  Find a dealer or used seller that will allow a 30 day.  The magic is usually in the synergy (i.e how well an amp sees and handles the impedances, how well the yin of the speakers matches the yang of the source/pre/amp side).  On paper those features/criteria are all noble; who wouldn't like and want musical, neutral, dynamic, detailed and yet well-balanced.

Ditto!  Don't let whatever others say to you how good anything audio is.  Let your ears do the driving.  Everyone here on A/C may be an expert, but none knows your ears.  Nobody but you.   Best is get a dealer to let you test-drive at home (many do, like Audio Advisor, 30-day at home audition, no question asked for returning).  I find that whatever I hear at a dealer's, etc., after all, is because of all the gear "there", not mine (of course, unless  your system is identical).  Trust your ears.  :thumb:

My choices would be the PL and the Naim in that order.
If you want tubes, go with the Prima Luna. If you've never had tube gear and are wary of it, go with the Naim.
