4Be best method from XLR to RCA?
« on: 16 Jan 2009, 12:45 am »
Hi,

I have a Bryston 4Be with XLR and 1/4 plug connectors only. But I need it to go to RCA to match my Bryston .5B pre-amp.
How would you suggest I do this?

Should I do this by a cable to adapt XLR on one end to RCA on the other?
Does anyone know if Bryston would have a solution?

And is there any difference in sound quality? XLR compared to 1/4" plug? On the amp?
Is one less prone to hum or noise than the other?

Thanks,
Dan

Hi Dan,

Use the XLR to RCA - we can do a cable for you.

Thanks for the fast reply.
Do I contact Bryston by phone for a price?
Hmm..... I'll also check in the morning if my 3B-ST has been shipped back to me yet.
I sent it in for repair. The next day it was repaired and being burned in on the bench before being returned to me.
I AM VERY IMPRESSED WITH THAT!!!!  :)
I have dealt with Mike on the phone a few times this week. Great guy.

Thanks again,

Dan
