Jennifer Warnes Album Recommendations Requested

Guys:

I recently purchased Jennifer Warnes "The Hunter" Album based on a recommendation I read here on AC.  I really like this album and would ask you guys that own Jennifer's albums if you would recommend your favorites.

Thanks,

Ken

"The Well" is really good!. Most of her older albums-not the same caliber. I first bought The Well and decided to get all of her albums. The Hunter is the only one I do not have. Would suggest "Famous Blue Raincoat" and "The Well".

Eva Cassidy is another artist to consider-"Live at Blues Alley"

Famous Blue Raincoat is an 'audiophile' choice. It can be a little dark though, in content, since it is her interpretation of Leonard Cohen songs produced with Leonard Cohen. Excellent quality.

Worth it just for First We Take Manhattan

I have The Hunter & Famous Blue Raincoat and I'll echo jqp's thoughts that Famous Blue Raincoat is a must-have album for Jennifer Warnes fans.  :D

Cheers,
Robin

"Shot Through The Heart" was an early album of hers. There is some excellent, though more mainstream, material on it. I believe they were still shooting for another Linda Ronstadt type pop star at that point, but Warnes proved a bit too headstrong in terms of musical styles for that to succeed.

Another artist you might find interesting is Karrin Allyson, though she is much more jazz oriented.

If you gonna get "Raincoat" (which is a must BTW...:)  ) get the 25th anniversary version.  Has the extra Ballad Of A Runaway Horse, a great song also found on the wonderful Rob Wasserman Duets album.
