Syriana, holy smoke!

Wow.  Anybody seen this?  Impressions?  I'll say up front that if you haven't seen this, thinking minds oughta.  Those who saw it in passing, should see it again.  Pay attention, it's ALL there.  Think our dependence on foreign oil is worth this?  Think our leaders have actually undermined the growth of democracy?

Its even worse than that...but to comment further may just fire up political flames.
Its a good film though, but it barely scratches the surface.

The more things change, the more they stay the same. Isn't this movie like 3 years old?

Well, a fellow can hope.  It is no less topical now than whenever it came out.  As said elsewhere, it is pretty strong commentary on why we need energy independence, among other things.  Nice system you have there.

Clooney was actually good in this one.  And Damon shows again why he's probably the most under-rated actor of his generation.  Very good movie, very good cast.

Whoa, dude!  I just realized (looking at this on cable) that the terrorist purchasing the big weapon from George Clooney in the first scene (who is not Iranian established by Clooney when he insulted him in Farsi before destroying the weapon) is the same SOB recruiting the disenfranchised young Muslims for an act of terrorism at the end of the movie.  Besides being controversial, probably the reason this movie didn't sweep the awards is because it contains is so much plot and intersecting threads it takes three viewings to sort it all out but it is there.  Deep movie.  Very sinister.  You gotta wonder how much is possible.  Way too much, I'm afraid.
