Wow, sounds like one heck of a deal considering this is a $12K player. Including shipping??? We are looking at a 75 "ish" lb player.

The AMR seems to be amazing gear. The Purity preamp was part of a complete AMR system at RMAF.

If I wasn't head deep in financing our production, I would be tempted to grab this one.

I would be interested in a used pair of Shahinian Diapasons, Shahinian Contra Bombarde subs, interesting front ends, Beveridge 2 speakers or maybe other things.  Bob

Baranyi,

I've seen references a few times to the "new" or "updated" CD-77 on various boards.  Do you know what this means, and is this the "updated" version?  AMR don't talk about it this way, as they say the 5 year time to market resulted in a completely optimized finished product, there would be no MK II, etc.  Anyway, would appreciate anything you know about this...  Thanks!!   :)

AMR is about to bring out the cd-77.1 which costs $12K.  They have been making rolling upgrades to the units for the last 2 years.  My unit is only 6 months old and has 75% of the upgrades that the 77.1 has.  I spoke to an AMR rep at the RMAF and he told me that the additional upgrades were all rather minor such as changing the fuses and the circuit board design.  They have also gone to a third type of capacitor in the unit.  My take on this situation (and a number of their dealers that I know) is that they made these changes to be able to increase the pricing by 30%.  The thing to keep in mind is that the cd-77 that received the rave reviews in the magazines was the same as the unit that I have for sale.  My unit was the first one to have the redesigned flight case. From what I have been told, my version of the cd-77 was the last before the newest version which is just being released.

Thanks very much for this! That makes sense - it's been pretty confusing.
